Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we can only use cookies that are not strictly necessary if you agree to them. We never set advertising cookies until you click Accept.

2. Essential cookies (always on)

These are needed for the website to work, so they do not need consent:

• Session cookie (sobha-restaurant-session): keeps the booking form and staff login working, and remembers a booking you have just submitted. We also use it to remember which advert or campaign link brought you to the site, so we can see which of our own adverts lead to bookings. This stays on our server and is not shared with anyone.
• XSRF-TOKEN: protects forms from being submitted by another website in your name.
• sobha_consent: remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies, for 6 months. When you choose, we also keep a simple record of that choice (an anonymous reference, your choice and the time; no IP address).

3. Advertising cookies (only with your consent)

• Google Ads tag (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC): measures when someone clicks one of our Google adverts and then books a table, so we know which adverts work. If you accept, the tag may set cookies such as _gcl_au and read Google advertising cookies. Data about the ad click and booking is shared with Google. When you book, your email address and phone number may be shared with Google in hashed (scrambled) form to match the booking to an advert click. See how Google uses cookies in advertising.

We may add a Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel in future to measure our Meta adverts. It will follow the same rule: it only loads if you have clicked Accept, and we will update this page first.

4. Other third-party content

Our Contact and Home pages include an embedded Google Map. Google may set its own cookies when that map loads. You can avoid these by opening the address in Google Maps yourself instead.

5. How to change your choice

You can change your mind at any time by clicking Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, or using the button below. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings; the banner will then ask you again.
